The Workshop will be taken place at the University of
British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada from August 2-20, 1999
and its purpose is to create a stimulating environment
for the intensive pursuit of research on modern mathematical
physics, gauge and string theories. The subject of the workshop
includes in particular:
	Non-perturbative string ans superstring theory
Anti-de-Sitter space and conformal field theory
	Large-N QCD, confining strings
	MQCD, duality
	M(atrix) theory
More details of the workshop, including programs and the list of
speakers are available at the Web homepage,
http://kepler.physics.ubc.ca/~pfs99.

The Workshop is sponsored by Asia Pacific Center for
Theoretical Physics and two major institutes in Canada,
Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences and Centre de
Recherches Mathematiques. The organizing committe wishes that
Japanese physicists actively participate in this international
scientific activity to make it a uique science program among
physicists in the Asia-Pacific region.

		Sincerely yours
