 Transportation:

  Phoenix Park (Workshop):

Bokwang Phoenix Park is located in the East Province, Pyongchang-kun
Kwangwon-do, approximately two hours from Seoul.

  1) The center will provide the transportation from Seoul to
Phoenix Park to those who will arrive at the center by 16th.
Two buses will be arranged to depart at 4:00 PM 16th.
One from the APCTP/KIAS Hongneung campus and the other from
science activity center (Kangnam) of APCTP. For the maps of
  both places see <http://www.apctp.org/visiting/map.html>
or <http://www.kias.re.kr/map/maps.html>. For those coming from
the airport it would be convenient to take the bus departing from
the science activity center of APCTP, Kangnam. The science activity
center can be reached by subway from the airport. Take the subway
line 5, then transfer to line 2 at the station of Yongdungpo-gu
office, then get off at the Yoksam station. The acvity center is
only 200 m away from the exit #7. It is on the 7th floor of
Ko-deung-kyo-yuk Jae-dan building. See the map
  http://www.apctp.org/figs/map01.jpg

  2) If you drive, you can reach Phoenix Park via the highway :
  Seoul - Hobub - Wonju - Duunae - Myunon - Phoenix Park.

  3) You can also reach by tourist bus: Take a tourist
bus from the Glass Tower, which is next to the Samsung subway
station in Seoul (on subway line 2, exit #4). The bus from the Glass
Tower departs twice a day at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM on weekdays, four
times a day at 6:00, 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturdays, and
three times a day at 6:00, 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM.

  4) This winter the shuttle service between the Kimpo International
Airport and the Phoenix Park is available at the price of
25,000 Won (a round trip). The bus stop is located at the parking
lot for tourist bus, internation passenger terminal 2
  (http://www.kimpo-airport.co.kr/ENG/index.html). The bus departs
twice a day at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. For details, please check the
web page of Phoenix Park <http://phoenixpark.co.kr/>.

  5) By the public transportation: Take a bus at Dong-Seoul Bus
Terminal (near Kangbyun subway station on line 2) in the direction
of Kangneung or Pyungchang, which departs every 30 min. and get off
Jang-Pyung terminal. Transfer to the shuttle bus to get the Phoenix
park. The shuttle bus runs from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and departs on
the hour and takes 15 min. To get the Dong-Seoul Bus Terminal from
the airport take a KAL limousine bus in the direction of Walker Hill
  Hotel at the airport.

  APCTP/KIAS Campus (School):

The school will be held in APCTP/KIAS campus in Seoul.
The directions to the campus from the airport can be found at
the hompage of APCTP (http://www.apctp.org/visiting/map.html) or
at the homapge of KIAS (http://www.kias.re.kr/map/direction.html).

 Passport and Visa:

Foreign visitors with the passport and the return ticket, except for
a few countries, can stay up to 15 days without visa. It is advised
to consult the nearest Korean Consulate for details. If you need
further assistance for visa, please contact one of the organizers for
  help.

 Taxes and Tipping:

Value-added tax (10%) and service charge (10%) applies for the
services at the Phoenix Park Hotel. But, tipping is not customary in
  Korea.

 Meals:

There are many cafeteria, fast food and formal restaurants with
various specialties in the Phoenix Park Hotel/Condo area. If you stay
in one of the Condo rooms, you can even cook for yourself.
The campus in Seoul is equipped two cafeteria and there are many
restaurants serving a great variety of foods near the campus.

 Climate:

This workshop place is located in the middle of mountains. In
February, the average temperature at the Park is below freezing
temperature. Be sure to bring a warm cloth. For details, please check
the web site: <http://phoenixpark.co.kr>. In Seoul it is milder, the
average temperature is about the freezing point.
