Dear Colleague,

We are organizing a workshop on
  "Nuclear Matter under Exterme Conditions (Matter03)",
   Dec. 1-3, 2003, YITP, Kyoto, Japan
as a pre-workshop of Nishinomiya-Yukawa Symposium 2003 on
  "Strangeness in Nuclear Matter",
   Dec. 4-5, 2003, Nishinomiya.

* Outline of the workshop

The subject in the Nishinomiya-Yukawa Symposium 2003 is strangeness nuclear
physics, which is one of the main element of nuclear matter at high densities.
At the end of Novermber, cluster conference will be held in Nara. Clustering 
aspects and neutron rich nuclei discussed in that conference are important
in dilute and/or asymmetric nuclear matter. Thus it is a good opportunity 
to get together and discuss various aspects of nuclear matter.
In the workshop, nuclear matter under various exterme conditions
--- densities, temperatures, compositions, and condensates ---
is discussed.

* Subjects

 (a) Asymmetric Nuclear Matter, and Physics of Neutron Rich Nuclei
 (b) Expanding Nuclear Matter, and Physics of Fragment Formation
 (c) Matter with Condensate; Pions, Kaons, Alphas, BB and qq
 (d) Dense Cold Hadronic Matter, and Physics of Neutron Stars
 (e) Flavored Nuclear Matter, and Physics of Hypernuclei
 (f) Hot Dense Baryonic Matter, and Physics of High-Energy Heavy-Ion Collisions
 (g) Extremely Hot Matter, and Physics at RHIC and LHC

These topics will be covered by invited talks and contributed talks.
Contributed talks will be selected from submitted abstracts.

* Call for Abstracts

We call for one page abstracts for oral presentations in the workshop.
Please send the pdf/ps file of your abstract by E-mail to
   matter03__AT__nucl.sci.hokudai.ac.jp
(You will be able to submit your abstract through WWW soon.)
The deadline of submission is October 24.

* Financial Support

Yukawa Insitute program advisory committee approved funds to assist 
participants, especially for students and young scientists,
who also participate the main symposium (Nishinomiya-Yukawa Symposium).
Those who need the support are requested to send an E-mail to the workshop
secretariat.
(For participants from abroad: Please note that we cannot support
 international flight expenses, but only local (hotel) expenses.)

Those who attend the workshop are requested to send a registration form
to the workshop secretary by October 31.
