  ======  First Announcement  =====

     This is the first announcement on the International Workshop on
Strangeness Nuclear Physics to be held in July 29 - 31, 2004, Osaka,
Japan. The workshop is scheduled right before the larger conference
called NP04 which is the 3rd International Workshop on Nuclear and
Particle Physics at J-PARC. The NP04 workshop will be held in August
2-4 at Tokai village, 150 km far from Tokyo, and it covers various
research fields of the J-PARC activities: nuclear/hadron physics,
strangeness nuclear physics, kaon rare decay, muon rare decay,
neutrino, and the physics with low energy anti-proton, etc.

     The present workshop will focus on the strangeness nuclear
physics with an intension to exchange information on the recent
progress. Discussions are also expected on the future prospects of
strangeness many-body physics and the related field. It is organized
as a reasonable size meeting assuming 80-100 participants.

     The workshop is co-hosted by the Research Center for Nuclear
Physics (RCNP) of Osaka University, High Energy Accelerator Research
Organization (KEK), and Osaka Electro-Communication University.

Call for Abstract

     For participation in the workshop, one is asked to send one-page
abstract for oral presentation. A pdf or ps file of the abstract
should be sent by E-mail to

The deadline of submission is June 18 (Friday).

     Those who attend the workshop are requested to send the

Strangeness Nuclear Physics (SNP2004), which will be held on
July 29 - 31, 2004 in Osaka, Japan. The workshop site is the
Toyonaka Campus of Osaka University. The meeting will focus on
the strangeness nuclear physics with an intension to exchange
information on the recent progress. Discussions are also
expected on future prospects of strangeness many-body physics
and the related fields. It is organized as a reasonable size
meeting assuming 80-100 participants.

The workshop is co-hosted by the Research Center for Nuclear
Physics (RCNP) of Osaka University, High Energy Accelerator
Research Organization (KEK), and Osaka Electro-Communication
University.

Potential participants from abroad may be also interested in
the subsequent NP04 conference, the 3rd International
Workshop on Nuclear and Particle Physics to be held near Tokyo
