However, it is also suggested that Λ(1405) has a non-q3 structure such as a meson-baryon molecular state. Some theoretical works using chiral Lagrangian and coupled unitary model predict the line shape of Λ(1405) as π∑ and KbarN. Its 2-pole structure is also suggested. On the other hand, ∑0(1385) is firmly established as a q3 state baryon. The difference of the internal structure of Λ(1405) and ∑0(1385) may appear in the photoproduction cross sections and/or photon beam asymmetries of these two hyperons. Recently, differential cross sections for γp -> K+Λ(1405) and γp -> K+∑0(1385) reactions were measured by LEPS collaboration. However, the statistics were limited. A new experiment was carried out at SPring-8/LEPS with liquid hydrogen target and linearly polarized photon beam. In order to detect decay products of hadrons, a time projection chamber(TPC) surrounding the target was used together with the LEPS spectrometer. In order to obtain the spectra of Λ(1405) and ∑0(1385) separately, we extracted following two reactions using track informations of K+ detected by LEPS spectrometer and decay products detected by TPC. (1) γp -> K+ ∑0(1385) -> K+ Λ π0 -> K+ p π- π0, (2) γp -> K+ Λ(1405) -> K+ ∑+(-) π-(+) -> K+ n π+π-. It is pointed out that because of a strong interference of the isospin 0 and 1 terms of the ∑π scattering amplitudes, the line shape of Λ(1405) could be different in ∑-π+ and ∑+π- decay modes. In order to separate both decay modes, a kinematic fit was applied. The isospin interference term is cancelled by summing the spectra of the ∑-π+ and ∑+π- modes. The summed spectrum was obtained after correcting for the decay branch of ∑+ -> pπ0. Our goal is to obtain the cross sections and beam asymmetries of Λ(1405) and ∑0(1385) and line shape of Λ(1405). The status of analysis will be reported. -------------------------------------------------------------- Backward phi photo-production from C, and Cu targets at E_gamma = 1.5-2.4 GeV Speakers: Takahiro Sawada (RCNP, Osaka University) -------------------------------------------------------------- Abstract: We have studied the phi meson photo-production from CH2, C, and Cu nuclei at backward angle via the phi -> K+ K- decay channel. The high energy photon beam with E = 1.5-2.4 GeV has been produced by laser backward Compton scattering from 8 GeV electrons in the storage ring of SPring-8. In our earlier publication, we reported the measurement of phi meson photo-production from Li, C, Al, and Cu targets at forward angle with LEPS forward spectrometer, in the phi momentum range of 1.0-2.2 GeV/c (Average 1.8 GeV/c). In order to investigate low momentum region, we have performed the new experiment. A Time Projection Chamber (TPC) surrounding the target for enlarging the detector acceptance was newly installed. Combined use of this TPC and existing LEPS forward spectrometer provided drastic increase of the detector acceptance covering the wide momentum range of phi mesons 0.3-2.0 GeV/c. It was first measurement of the photo-produced phi mesons from nuclear targets with momentum less than 0.8 GeV/c. In this talk, we would like to report the production cross section ratio from C, Cu nuclei in our momentum region and discuss the momentum dependence of the in-medium properties of phi meson. -------------------------------------------------------------- Molecular Interpretation of the XYZ states Speakers: Raquel Molina (RCNP, Osaka University) -------------------------------------------------------------- Abstract: The majority of the 'new’charmonium-like X, Y and Z mesons mainlyu discovered at the B-factories BELLE and BaBar cannot be easily accommodated in the qqbar model and are therefore interesting objects for meson structure besides the constituent quark model. They are intriguingly close to the D*D*bar and Ds*Ds*bar thresholds and there are several theoretical models which test the hypothesis of D*D*bar ( or Ds*Ds*bar) molecular structure. One of them is the coupled channel approach, which combined with the Hidden Gauge Lagrangians, turned out to provide a useful tool to determine the mass and width of resonances [1]. In this talk we describe some of the X, Y, Z states as dynamically generated resonances from the vector - vector interaction. All the possible channels with quantum numbers charm = 0, strangeness = 0 around the energy region of 4000 MeV are included. We find that some of the XYZ states (the Y(3940), Z(3930) and X(4160)) can fit into this structure within the model. A further interesting topic is the radiative decays of these states which are also a crucial test to hadron structure. Decay rates are also provided by the model [2] and recently we have also evaluated the decay ratio of the X(3872) into J/ψγ. [1] R. Molina and E. The decay rate of the X(3872) to J/psi gamma is sensitive to the amount of the Chi_c1(1P) (^3P_1) charmonium component in the X(3872). We have estimated it in the charmonium-molecule hybrid model. The obtained amount of the Chi_c1(1P) (^3P_1) component in the X(3872) has been very small, however, we have found that such small component gives the sizable contribution to the X(3872) to J/psi gamma decay rate and our result supports the recent result by Belle. --------------------------- Radiative and recent experimental update on X(3872) by Vishal Bhardwaj Last decade has seen growth in the charmonium (ccbar) sector with observation of new states, out of which many are the candidates for exotic states. Among them X(3872) has stirred a lot of discussions due to its puzzling nature. Its narrow width (Gamma<1.2 MeV) and proximity of its mass (3871.7+-0.2 MeV) with D*0D0bar threshold makes it a good candidate for DD*bar resonance. Other models have also been proposed for X(3872) states, such as tetraquark, admixture of DD*bar and conventional charmonium and ccbar-g hybrid. Radiative decays provide us a unique opportunity to understand the nature of X(3872). This talk will cover the radiative decays of X(3872) along with searches for other X(3872) decay modes and partner states. --------------------------- New Theta+ results from LEPS by Takashi Nakano New results of the penta-quark Theta+ study in the gamma d -> K+K- p n reactions from LEPS will be presented. First, in order to check the validity of the 5-sigma evidence which we obtained by analyzing the data taken in 2002-2003, the same analysis method (inclusive analysis where proton and neutron contributions were not separated) was applied to the new data taken in 2006-2007. A strong narrow peak in the Fermi-motion corrected K- missing mass was not reproduced in the new data set. To investigate the reason for the inconsistency, we applied an exclusive analysis to the both data sets, where background processes due to gamma p reactions were identified by energy loss information in a trigger plastic counter which was placed just after the liquid-deuterium target. A clear signal enhancement was seen in the gamma n contributions of the both data sets, and a part of the inconsistency was tuned out to be due to fluctuations in the proton contribution of the previous data set. The signal enhancement was also confirmed by a Monte-Carlo based exclusive analysis. This talk will be given in English.
