弦理論と場の理論に関する研究会『KEK理論研究会2014』
（KEK theory workshop 2014）を、2014年2月18日（火）から
2月21日（金）にKEK（研究本館、小林ホール）にて開催します。

この研究会は例年3月に行われていましたが、今年度は上記の日程で
開催します。また、これまで日本語で行っていましたが、今回は、
海外からの招待講演者も招き、全ての講演を英語で行います。

ゲージ/重力対応、ブラックホール、宇宙論、M理論をはじめとする
様々な話題に関して、根本的問題を活発に議論できる機会になればと
考えております。

KEK theory workshop 2014 will be held from February 18 (Tue) to
February 21 (Fri), 2014. This is an annual workshop on string theory
and quantum field theory.

Until last year, the workshop was held in Japanese, but this year, we 
will make this an international workshop. Speakers are invited from 
abroad as well as from Japan, and all talks will be given in English.

We hope this workshop provides an opportunity for active discussion 
on fundamental problems in the topics such as gauge/gravity 
correspondence, black holes, cosmology, M-theory, and so on.

KEK theory workshop is an annual workshop on string theory and 
quantum field theory. This year, it is held as an international workshop.

We hope this workshop provides an opportunity for active discussion 
on fundamental questions in high-energy theory. The topics will be:
 Gauge/gravity correspondence, 
 M-theory,
 Quantum properties of black holes, 
 Cosmology, 
 Particle phenomenology,
 Non-equilibrium physics,
and so on.

The workshop will start in the morning of Feb. 18, and end around 
noon on Feb 21. Poster session (including a gong-show, in which 
poster contributers introduce their work in 1 or 2 minutes) will be 
in the afternoon of Feb. 19. Banquet will be in the evening of Feb. 19.

1. KEK user registration

2. Workshop registration (If you are applying for poster presentation, 
please submit Title and Abstract.)

3. If you need support for travel expenses, please contact Ms. Tamao 
Shishido (address is given below). Please note that our budget is limited 
this year, and we may not be able to provide support for everyone who 
applies. We would appreciate it if you could use your own funding.

Usually, it takes a few business days for Step 1 (User registration) to 
complete. Furthermore, KEK staff will be out of office from Dec. 27 until 
Jan. 5, and application received during this period will be handled on
Jan. 6. So, if you are attending the workshop, we ask you to finish at 
least Step 1 as soon as possible.

Please make a hotel reservation by yourself. Information on the hotels is in:
