Dear all, (Japanese announcement follows English version.)
We are planning to organize a mini-workshop "The international workshop
on nuclear physics for astrophysical phenomena " from 23 (Wed) to 25
(Fri) October 2019, at multipurpose hall, 1^st floor of EEI (N3)
building located at north area of Ookayama campus of Tokyo Institute of
Technology, Ookayama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, Japan
Astrophysical phenomena are very useful for nuclear physics to examine
various nuclear models at normal to extreme conditions. In this
workshop, we focus on nuclear physics in close relation to astrophysical
phenomena such as nucleosynthesis at neutron star mergers and
supernovae. Among many topics, nuclear fission in nucleosynthesis has
been drawing increasing attention again though the idea of fission
recycle in r-process has long history.It is due to discovery of signals
from binary neutron-star mergers in terms of various messengers ranging
from radio to gamma-ray wavelengths and even gravitational waves.
The purpose of this workshop is to share latest research activities on
nuclear physics relating to nucleosynthesis in the cosmos such as
fission recycling, and to provide an opportunity to discuss what gives
the biggest impact on fission recycling process in r-process
nucleosynthesis. For precise evaluation of the contribution of nuclear
fission in r-process nucleosynthesis, we should investigate nuclear
properties of neutron-rich nuclei and superheavy elements (SHE) in
addition to development of nuclear fission models including nuclear
mass, nuclear level densities, nuclear structures and various decay modes.

2019年10月23日(水)から25日(金)の日程で、国際ミニワークショップ「The
international workshop on nuclear physics for astrophysical
phenomena」を東京工業大学
大岡山キャンパス（東京都目黒区）にあるEEI棟一階の多目的ホールにて開催する運びとなりました。ワークショップの狙いは以下のようになります。
これまで原子核物理において蓄えられてきた知見の妥当性を確かめる上で、幅広い状態が混在する天文学的現象は非常に有益である。このワークショップでは中性子星合体や超新星爆発における元素合成など、天体現象に関連する原子核物理の分野に焦点を当てる。rプロセス中の核分裂サイクルが長い間にわたり議論されているが、連星系の中性子星が合体したことを示すシグナルが宇宙線だけではなく、重力波という形でも検出されることにより、元素合成過程中の核分裂が再度脚光を浴びているところである。
このワークショップでは、核分裂サイクルのような宇宙における元素合成に関する原子核物理の研究の進展について共有し、何がこの研究分野の進展に対して最も大きなインパクトを与えるかという点について議論する場を設けることを目標とする。そのためには、これまで議論されてきたような原子核の質量や準位密度、核構造やその崩壊過程の効果を取り入れた核分裂模型の開発に加えて、rプロセス元素合成における核分裂の影響を精密に評価するのに必要な中性子過剰核や超重核の性質を探る必要があると考えている。
