2月25日（木）に長寿命粒子の探索に関するセミナーをオンラインで行います。
今回の主題は長寿命のダークフォトンです。

今回はIPMUのGraham Whiteさんに長寿命ダークフォトン探索の理論的な背景についてお話を伺い、その後LBNLのSimone Pagan Grisoさん(EF09-BSM Genericセクションの議長)にSnowmassプロセスでの長寿命粒子探索に関する話題をダークフォトンを中心に話して頂きます。

昨年度までは長寿命粒子に関する研究会を東工大と東大で行っていました。
コロナ禍においては国際会議がオンラインで行われ移動せずに参加できるようになった一方で、必ずしも参加しやすい時間帯で行われないということがあります。
そこで、アジアも含め多くの地域から参加しやすいように、短時間で行うセミナーシリーズという形態に移行しました。

に引き続き、LHC等のコライダー実験に限定せず、様々な方法で長寿命の新粒子を
捉える実験・理論をカバーする内容といたします。

ヒッグス粒子の発見の後に新粒子が見つかっていない現状にあっても、
長寿命粒子探索は新しいアイディアで探索領域を広げていける分野です。
また、これから本格的に始まろうとしている実験や、将来計画においても、
長寿命粒子の信号を見逃さないようにしていくことは重要だと考えられます。

セッションは全て英語で行われます。

Seminar Series on Long Lived Particle searches

Dear colleagues,

On February 25th, we will hold the first seminar in SS-LLP (Seminar Series on Long Lived Particle searches). The theme will be long-lived dark photons.

Dr. Graham White (IPMU) will tell us theory on LLP dark photons, and Dr. Simone Pagan Griso (LBNL, co-chair of EF09-BSM Generic) will talk about the experimental side including the topics being studied in the Snowmass process.

Until the last fiscal year, we have had annual workshops at Tokyo-Tech and U-Tokyo. Due to COVID-19, many international conferences are held virtually. While it allows us to participate in them without traveling, they are not always held in our convenient time. We, therefore, converted the style of our LLP workshop into a series of short seminars of a length of a couple of hours which may be convenient for many colleagues including in the Asian time zones.

We will cover topics on LLP searches, both from the theoretical and experimental sides, with various means including non-collider experiments as done in previous workshops,

LLP searches have a high potential to extend the reach to discover new physics in absence of new particles after the Higgs discovery. It is important to prepare searches in starting experiments and future projects too.

All talks will be done in English.
