Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the KEK Theory Workshop 2020 (KEK-TH 2020),
which will be held online this year. This workshop is an annual
international workshop on string theory and quantum field theory in
Japan, which covers a wide range of topics such as superstrings,
supersymmetric gauge theories, black hole physics, quantum field
theories, condensed matter physics and various fundamental problems in
theoretical physics.
This year, we will focus on four special topics for invited talks
which attract great interest these days. The four topics with the
names of confirmed invited speakers are listed as follows:
Dec. 15: Topological phases of matter
Yoshimasa Hidaka* (KEK)
Kazuya Yonekura (Tohoku U.)
Ken Shiozaki (YITP)
Ryo Yokokura (KEK)
Dec. 16: QCD phase diagram at finite density
Akira Ohnishi* (YITP)

Jun Nishimura (KEK)
Dec. 17: Machine learning applications to string theory
Yang-Hui He* (Merton Coll., U. of Oxford)

Dec. 18: Quantum aspects on black holes
Pei-Ming Ho* (NTU)
Yuki Yokokura (RIKEN)
We will have one or two introductory talks on each focused topic, the
speakers of which are marked by *.
There will be no poster session; instead, we will arrange more short
talks for participants than the previous KEK-TH workshops. The short
talks are not necessarily related with the four topics.
Registration for the workshop is now open at the website. The deadline
for registration is as follows:
Those who wish to apply for a short talk: November 15 (Sun)
Other participants: December 8 (Tue)
Please note that we will close the registration when the number of the
applicants exceeds 300. There is no registration fee.
All the necessary information for the Zoom meeting will be sent to the
registered participants by email before the workshop starts.

弦理論と場の理論に関するKEK理論研究会(KEK Theory Workshop)を2020年12月
15日(火)から12月18日(金)にかけてオンラインで開催いたします。本研究会で
は、超弦理論、超対称ゲージ理論、ブラックホール、場の理論、物性理論、そ
して理論物理学における根本的問題などの幅広いトピックが議論できる場を提
供いたします。
今年度の招待講演では、近年注目を集める以下の4つのトピックにフォーカス
いたします。確定している招待講演者は以下の通りです。

それぞれのトピックには非専門家向けの入門的な講演を設けまして、*マーク
がついている方々にお願いいたしました。
また、今回はポスターセッションはありませんが、その代わりに前回よりも多
くのショートトークをご用意いたします。ショートトークは以上の4つのトピッ
クと必ずしも関係する必要はございません。
参加登録は上記のサイトにて受け付けております。締め切りは以下の通りです。
ショートトーク申込者：11月15日(日)
それ以外の参加者：12月8日(火)
応募者が300人を超えた時点で登録を締め切らせていただきますのでご注意く
ださい。なお、参加費は無料です。
Zoomミーティングへの参加に必要な情報は、参加登録者にメールにて事前にお
知らせいたします。
