　１９７３年２月１日、小林誠KEK特別栄誉教授と故・益川敏英・京都大学　　
　
名誉教授の、いわゆる「小林・益川理論」が学術誌　　　　　　　　　　　　　
　
Progress of Theoretical Physicsに掲載されました。　　　　　　　　　　　
　　
　この理論は、この宇宙にはなぜ物質だけが残り、反物質は見当たらないのか　
　
という大きな謎に深くかかわる理論で、Belle実験で実証され、両教授は　　　
　　
２００８年、ノーベル物理学賞を共同受賞しました。　　　　　　　　　　　　
　
　論文発表から５０年を記念して講演会を行います。　　　　　　　　　　　　
　
第１部では理論提唱当時の様子を小林誠博士が講演します。                   
 
東京大学カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構・機構長でカリフォルニア工科大学
フレッド・カブリ冠教授の大栗博司博士、
山内正則KEK機構長
も講演します。　  
　第２部では、若い世代に向けて、QuizKnock須貝駿貴氏、　　　　　　　　　
　
宇宙タレント黒田有彩氏をファシリテーターに迎え、講演者３名と現場で活躍す
る

To all,

On Saturday, February 18, KEK will hold a symposium entitled "The 50th 
Anniversary of the Kobayashi-Maskawa Theory: Why can humans
exist in the universe? / The Wonder of the Symmetry Breaking" at 
Hitotsubashi Hall, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Prof. Makoto Kobayashi and Prof. Toshihide Maskawa published their Nobel 
Prize winning theory in Progress of Theoretical Physics on
February 1, 1973.
This ground-breaking paper helped to explain the peculiar imbalance of 
matter and antimatter in the universe.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this accomplishment, KEK, which 
has been conducting experimental verification of the
Kobayashi-Maskawa Theory, is holding a symposium that gives an overview 
of the research of the two professors, the birth and
establishment of this theory and what lies ahead for young generations.
